Back that thang up
My laptops have a nice tendency to crash when I need them most, causing me to lose important files on my hard drive. So, after burning through three laptops in four years (actually, the first one was stolen), I decided to invest in an external hard drive to back up my stuff.
I've been backing up my thesis documents and my iTunes files there semi-regularly. And this week, I moved all my photos off of my laptop's hard drive and onto the external drive. (I also have them on Flickr, so I consider that a second backup.) But even after all this, I find my laptop's space running out fairly quickly. Moving the photos cleared out 8GB, but I'd like to clean it up a little more. Any tips on how to find files/programs on a PC that could easily be deleted or moved and not be missed?
On another note, i'm trying to import my posts into Tumblr. I was really hoping it would back up all my old posts, but I think it's only doing the ones from when I started the site. This is my first blog post since then, so we'll see what happens.
Back to...gulp...work now! xxx

I heard good things this weekend about Dropbox for file backups: http://www.getdropbox.com/
Nothing beats backup redundancy!
