Project 365 Day 166: June 15, 2013

My mom and I had to go to a funeral this morning and ran some Father's Day errands in the afternoon. Everyone was out, so we went to an early dinner. Here we are on the patio at the Tunxis Grill. I think I have a similar photo from last year, also at the Tunxis Grill, but inside... http://flic.kr/p/eVKh2E

Project 365 Day 165: June 14, 2013

I like taking photos of weird textures and having people guess what they are. This here is a closeup of Maggie's hair gel. When she started buying this brand a while ago, I thought, "Hey, that would make a cool photo." :) http://flic.kr/p/eVxQwF

Project 365 Day 164: June 13, 2013

My mom has a gorgeous gardenia tree out on the deck this year. It smells amazing and the flowers are beautiful. This is probably not the best angle of it, but it was just starting to rain as I took this photo. http://flic.kr/p/eVxPZi

Project 365 Day 163: June 12, 2013

I love having everything I need right on my phone, but I feel like it comes at a cost - now I know the second any work email comes into my inbox and I feel compelled to answer it! I have to keep reminding myself that it can wait until tomorrow...:) http://flic.kr/p/eVxNUi

Project 365 Day 162: June 11, 2013

This amazing building is the Rocky Top Student Center at Quinnipiac University. I spent the day here for the CT Distance Learning Consortium's E-Volution Conference, where I presented with Lorelle and Lisa on a project we did when I was at FCLD. It was a great day, and as beautiful a building on the inside as it is on the outside. (Although I must say, it was a little jarring having my old colleagues and my new ones sitting with me at the same table!) I think this is the first decent photo I've taken with my panoramic app on my phone. I'm happy with how it came out :) http://flic.kr/p/eVKcRN

Project 365 Day 161: June 10, 2013

Here's PJ, looking handsome in the purple shirt I bought him. He always looks good in bright colors! Have you noticed I've cut down on the narrative that goes with these pictures? I'm not as good at posting these on a regular basis as I used to be! http://flic.kr/p/eVxL7z

Project 365 Day 160: June 9, 2013

When I was out at Target today, I stopped in the men's department to pick up some shirts and shorts for PJ. This MY LITTLE PONY shirt was in the men's department. I don't think it's there by mistake. What's the deal, Target? http://flic.kr/p/eVKaB5

Project 365 Day 159: June 8, 2013

Not a very eventful day, so here's the Texas Barn Star on the front of our house. I love these! http://flic.kr/p/eVxJER

Project 365 Day 158: June 7, 2013

Although I like the rain, the one thing I hate about it is that I'm stuck inside. Charter Oak is not really big enough to walk around indoors, so I don't get as many steps done on rainy days! http://flic.kr/p/eFGLSk

Project 365 Day 157: June 6, 2013

I'm thinking of taking my Charter Oak travel mug to work tomorrow. It's supposed to be cold and rainy, so it would be good for tea. But I'm also wearing my Charter Oak shirt and carrying my Charter Oak umbrella, so it *might* just be considered overkill. ;) http://flic.kr/p/eFNTGb

Project 365 Day 156: June 5, 2013

Seen outside one of the dorms at CCSU. Anyone know what kind of flowers these are? http://flic.kr/p/eFGLie

Project 365 Day 155: June 4, 2013

I had the day off today, and after I went to a doctor's appointment, this is what I worked on for the rest of the day. I'm presenting at a conference next week with Lorelle and Lisa on our iPad series that we developed for the University of Hartford, and we're getting our presentation together. I think it will be fun - we've always had fun planning seminars together! http://flic.kr/p/eFGKyr

Project 365 Day 154: June 3, 2013

This is a terrible picture, but it's just one of those "huh?" moments. I bought this magazine today, and on the back there was this ad for diet pills. The ad says this girl lost 42 pounds...I don't know, but I think she actually looks kinda thinner in the before photo! http://flic.kr/p/eFGJ74

Project 365 Day 153: June 2, 2013

Graduation Day at Charter Oak! I got to be involved in a lot of parts of it, including holding the door as the graduates entered. It was such a fun day, and not like any other graduation I've attended - probably because it's a whole different kind of crowd from your traditional college graduation. You can read a story about the day, including tweets and photos contributed by yours truly, here. http://flic.kr/p/eFNQsC

Project 365 Day 152: June 1, 2013

It's finally starting to be nice out! What a gorgeous evening! My mom and I sat on the deck until late, and we made this strawberry/blueberry trifle for tomorrow's dinner. It was so nice out, I convinced my mom that we should make this on the deck - not too convenient, but I didn't want to go inside yet! http://flic.kr/p/eFNP3h

Project 365 Day 151: May 31, 2013

This weekend, I am volunteering at Charter Oak's graduation. (Yes, even though we're an online college, we have a live graduation!) Today, we had to go down to Central to learn about how it was all set up so we'd be prepared for Sunday. This is Welte Hall at Central, where the main ceremony will be held. It doesn't need to be that large, since only about 150 graduates are able to come. But I'm looking forward to the event - I love graduations! http://flic.kr/p/eFGFkB

Project 365 Day 150: May 30, 2013

I love that my job is so close to the mall that I can go there during my lunch break and not really need to take any time off. And I love taking pictures of patterns, so that's where we get today's photo. This is the wall paper inside Vera Bradley at Westfarms. http://flic.kr/p/eFGF1i

Project 365 Day 149: May 29, 2013

There's some kind of Spring/Summer bug going around. I had to stay home today - I just felt lousy. I lived off of these all day - raspberry popsicles from Edy's. And despite being lousy, I still managed to get a lot done. :) http://flic.kr/p/exaaLy

Project 365 Day 148: May 28, 2013

My boss, the Dean, and her boss, the Provost, at my boss' farewell party. She's leaving for a job at another college. In the meantime, my boss' boss will be my boss, and they're hiring us a new boss. Did that make any sense? Probably not. :) http://flic.kr/p/ex6Ybv

Project 365 Day 147: May 27, 2013

Every year, my grandfather (my mom's dad) rides in the town's Memorial Day parade in my dad's WWII Army Jeep. This year, he is wearing my other grandfather's (my dad's dad) hat, and the jacket of my brother-in-law's grandfather (his dad's dad). So, three of Jack's great grandfathers were honored in today's parade, and in this photo. :) http://flic.kr/p/ex6XGi
