Just wondering

1.) If Patronus charms are so difficult to do and can only be done by very powerful wizards, why is everyone and their brother doing them in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?

2.) Why are there no freezers anywhere in Catz? What if someone (totally hypothetically, of course) had some Ben & Jerry's and needed to store it?

3.) Where the hell am I gonna store my suitcases?

Sadly Ironic

So as I mentioned in my last post, I'm in the middle of a First Aid course. Today we did CPR, and the trainer told us that there are several songs that you can hum in your head when you do the 30 chest compressions, so that you get the rhythm right.

Apparently, this is one of them.

No time to write new post's

I owe you a lot of posts now that I'm back in the land of Ox, but I really don't have time for it at the moment. I will, however, offer you this short gripe.

I've been going to First Aid training in Kidlington for the past two days. At one of the little sandwich shops nearby, there is a sign that advertises "Coffee's, Tea's and Cakes."

Now why they hell would they think that two of the three would need apostrophes, but the third one didn't? It reminded me of another sign I've seen in Oxford that advertises "Sandwiches" and "Potatoe's."

Why???????????????????????

I am never ordering from Tesco.com again

So I have this new thing that I do, where I order my groceries online a few days before I get to the UK, so I don't have to schlep out to the store when I get here. I usually order from Sainsbury's, because (a) I have a Nectar (loyalty) card and (b) I think the quality's a bit better, even though I have to do a minimum order of £25 for delivery. Unfortunately, this time the Sainsbury's website was shut down for updating, so I went to Tesco (probably the UK equivalent to Wal-Mart) instead. I was delighted to see that I didn't have to do a minimum order, so I just picked out a few things and went on my merry way.

When the delivery came, not only did the driver have no idea where the college was, he also messed up two major things on my order. He didn't bring my cream cheese, even though it was clearly listed on the receipt and I was charged for it; and he brought me the nasty European-style spray deodorant instead of the regular stuff.

So now I smell like a European tourist and I have nothing to put on my bagels. Damn.

At least the college lets me eat for free. :)

In case you're looking for me

Well, I guess some things just happen for a reason. It turns out that my ticket got cancelled due to some problem with my credit card, so I have to delay my arrival in Oxford until next week. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the credit card fraud problem I had in December - they have a watch on my credit report in case anything suspicious happens, like large purchases or new credit cards opening up or lots of purchases outside the country. (I wonder if that's why my ATM card kept getting eaten up in Oxford in July as well?)

So anyway, I'll be in Oxford next week. See you then!
