Project 366 Day 101: April 10, 2012

I have become rather addicted to the iPod/iPad game "DrawSomething." It is a little bit like Pictionary: you draw something and send it to someone to guess and vice versa. I started out on the iPod, but had to download it on the iPad to get more drawing space!

Here I am guessing Mary's drawing: "mustard." I've drawn some pretty elaborate clues on here, but I never remember to take a screenshot...

Project 366 Day 100: April 9, 2012

I wish I had something more glamorous for Day 100, and I wish I could say that I saw these rocks somewhere glamorous, but no, I just saw these in the parking lot on the way out of work today. I thought they would look cool in a photo.

I can't figure out why this photo was over 3MB. Is it because of the macro?

Project 366 Day 99: April 8, 2012

I bet you didn't expect a picture like this for Easter Sunday. Well, maybe some of you did. (Hi Pat!)

Not only was it Easter today, but it was also my grandfather's 93rd birthday. If I figured it out right, it was the third time in his lifetime that Easter has fallen on his birthday: before today, it happened in 2007, and before that, 1928.*

We celebrated in the way Poppas likes best for both Easter and his birthday: we all went to mass and had the usual big family dinner, and he got to watch the Master's tournament on top of all that. So I think it was a pretty good day for him.

Here he is blowing out the candles on his birthday cake, which is the bunny cake that my mother always makes for Easter.

Happy Easter and Happy Birthday Poppas! Hope everyone had a great day. :)

*Fun fact: I think I am the only other person in my family who has had Easter fall on their birthday. It has happened once for me, in 1989, and won't happen again until my 82nd birthday.

Project 366 Day 98: April 7, 2012

Let me tell you a little story about my brother, Kevin.

For a while now he had been saying that he wanted to get an English bulldog, that he wanted to name him Spike and that he wanted to get him one of those collars with spikes on it so he looked all tough. Recently, when he moved into his new apartment, he started getting serious about looking for a bulldog. He finds a breeder, and he and his girlfriend Mary head to New York to pick out a dog.

That night, we get a call from him after he's been to buy the dog. He bought one...but it's a girl, and he named it Daisy. He says that the girl had a much nicer personality than the boy one. And now, instead of studded collars and all that, he's buying her pink girly things. Talk about a change of pace!

I didn't intend for this to be my picture of the day, but he stopped by this evening as Jack was leaving, so we had to get this picture of the three of them, with Daisy all ready for Easter. I had planned to do a lot of baking, but that ended up taking a backseat today...

Project 366 Day 97: April 6, 2012

I can't stand Easter. The only thing I like about it is dying Easter eggs, which we do on Good Friday. Ever year I try to do some the way I've always done them since I was little (coloring flowers and sticking stickers on them), and I try to do some that are interesting or intricate in some way. We each did a few eggs, and this is the one of mine I like best.
