Project 366 Day 91: March 31, 2012

March came in like a lamb and out like a lion this year - we got 70s at the beginning of the month, and today we woke up to snow. It was cold and we all had a tiring day yesterday, so it was a good day today to stay in bed and catch up with Season 1 of Blue Bloods.

I have always had a massive crush on Tom Selleck, so this was worth staying in for :)

Project 366 Day 90: March 30, 2012

No one has hit the jackpot in the lottery for weeks, so tonight's Mega Millions is worth HALF A BILLION DOLLARS.

We, of course, bought 20 tickets.

I'll call you from my private island when I win.

Project 366 Day 89: March 29, 2012

Today Oliver Noble Wood, who is in my faculty at Oxford, gave a talk today at the U of H. It was kind of cool that I actually knew him. He gave a great talk, and there were several lunches held for him that I got to attend. It was a cool change of pace from my usual work week!

This is a terrible photo because I took it discretely on my iPod from the back of the room. I didn't want to be caught waving a camera around!

Project 366 Day 88: March 28, 2012

Today was the kind of day where nothing was really photographable, so today's photo is a collage of things that represent the time that has passed since my last photo. From left to right:

1.) I've been lugging around my umbrella for ages now, and it hasn't been raining. So when I got a new purse for my birthday, I left the umbrella behind in my car to save space. And guess what? It rains today.

2.) I came home from work yesterday to this lovely surprise: my friend Elizabeth sent me a cookie bouquet for my birthday. She knows me too well, and it matches so many other things I have already. I don't want to eat it - I want to save it! :)

and 3.) Every year, the University of Hartford hosts a lecture featuring a speaker from Hertford College, Oxford. I just so happen to know this year's speaker, Oliver Noble Wood, as he is part of the Spanish sub-faculty. I got to have lunch with him and a bunch of other fancy people today, and tomorrow is his lecture. I will try to sneak in a picture then...

Project 366 Day 87: March 27, 2012

Back to work today after a nice long weekend (I had Friday and Monday off). Lisa and I went to lunch at 1877 today, the campus restaurant, which is where this photo was taken.

There is nothing really monumental about dining at 1877, except I was asked something I never expected to hear: "Would you like to join the flan list?"

(The "flan list" is a list of campus employees who want to be notified when the restaurant is making flan. I joined that list without hesitation, as their flan is quite good.)
